On 9 January 2026, the Department of Chemistry organized a one-day International Conference on “Sustainable Innovations for a Sustainable Globe” at Carmel Hall. The programme began with a welcome address by Dr. Anu Jose, Head of the Department of Chemistry, followed by the presidential address by Dr. Laina, IQAC Coordinator. The conference was inaugurated by Prof. G. Unnikrishnan, NIT Calicut, who also delivered the keynote address highlighting advances in macromolecule-based and MOF-assisted drug delivery systems for sustainable healthcare. The event featured expert talks by Dr. Harsha Prakash, Dr. Akhil K, and Dr. Muhammed Ashik of Kyushu University, and an afternoon session by Dr. Pradeepan Periyat, Kannur University focusing on carbon neutrality and sustainable development.
