The Department of Social Work at Providence Women’s College is dedicated to empowering
students with the knowledge, skills, and values essential for professional practice in the field of
social work. Established in 2025 with the aim of promoting social change, development and
justice, the department offers 4 year Bachelor of Social work (BSW) Honours Programme. The
programme combines theoretical learning, field work practicum, skill development, and research
components, ensuring a holistic educational experience to students. Students are encouraged to
participate in rural camps, extension activities, workshops, seminars and observation visits to
build up their competencies and leadership abilities.
