The Film Club of the college won an award instituted by the Malayala Chalachitra Souhrudha Vedi on the occasion of the organisation’s celebration of “110 Years of Indian Cinema” on 1 January 2023. The award is given in recognition of the efforts of the club to propularise and strengthen cinema culture. The student coordinators Devika S Nair and Dona Thomas,and the Staff Coordinator Dr. Shanthi Vijayan received the citation from the script writer Sri. Shatrugnan.
A workshop was organised on 28 Oct 2022 titled "Nuances of Theatre". Ms. Parshathy J Nath, Inlaks Theatre Scholarship Awardee 2021 and alumni of Adishakthi Theatre Laboratory was the resource person. 15 selected students of the department participated in the workshop conducted in the college auditorium from 11 am to 4 pm. The workshop focused on acting, emoting, scripting, direction and the various aspects of theatre.
The Certificate Course in "Shakespeare on Film" was inaugurated by Prof. Jonathan Gil Harris of Ashoka University, New Delhi, with a lecture on "Masala Shakespeare". The session was chaired Course adviser by Dr. N.P.Ashley, Assistant Professor of English, St.Stephen's College, New Delhi. The online session began at 5 pm and was attended the faculty (including former faculty) and the students of the department.
The Film Club of the Dept. of English paid homage to the auteur Jean Luc Godard who passed away on 13 Sept. 2022, by conducting a poster exhibition on his movies. Vaishavi M, and Vishnupriya of BA English designed the posters based on Godard's movies and famous statements while Amrutha K K of MA English drew his portrait. Fathima Fidha of First Sem. MA English delivered the commemoration speech.
Grassroots, the Environment club of the Dept.of English observed World Ozone Day on Sept.16 by taking a pledge to use ozone friendly products and by making posters related to the theme. The students of the Dept. visited different classes and took an oath for ozone protection.

A talk on " For the Love of Literature" by noted film actor and theatre artist, director, playwright Mr. Joy Mathew was organized by the theatre club on 12 Sep 2022, from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm . It was an engaging session, followed by an interaction with the guest who discussed in detail the nuances of acting and script writing.
The film club of the Dept. of English conducted "Meet the Team" -- an interactive session with the director Jeo Baby and actress/director Kunjila, our alumna as part of the promo for their movie - Sreedhanya Catering Service
As part o AKAM, the debate club of the Dept. of English conducted a debate on the topic "The Ideals of Gandhiji: Relevance then and now" on 5th Aug 2022.Bindu Amat, HoD, Dept. of English and Nishana C M, faculty, Dept of IR & Political Science, were the jury of the competition
