On 23/01/2026, a programme titled “Unite to End Violence Against Women – From Real to
Virtual World… Sensitize Them Young!!” was held at 1:30 p.m. in Carmel Hall, Providence
Women’s College, organised by the Calicut Obstetric and Gynaecological Society (COGS) in
association with the PG and Research Department of English. The presidential address was
given by Dr. Ajitha P. N., President of COGS, and the Resource Person for the programme was
Dr. Varsha Vidyadharan , Associate Professor, Department of Psychiatry, Government Medical
College, Kozhikode, who discussed key concerns related to digital violence. An interactive
session was then led by Dr. Winny Vijayan of Baby Memorial Hospital, where two students
shared personal experiences. Felicitations were offered by Dr. Rajeesh, Secretary of COGS,
and the vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Fathima Thasneem, Consultant Gynaecologist at
Matria Hospital and coordinator of “She Shakthi.”
