A National Seminar was organized by the Department of History

A National Seminar was organized by the Department of History on 23 October 2025.
Dr. Salah Punathil, Assistant Professor, Centre for Regional Studies, University of
Hyderabad, delivered the keynote address. His lecture, titled “Interdisciplinary
Approaches: Studying Past and Present – Reflections in Social Science,” emphasized the
significance of integrating diverse disciplinary perspectives in the study of historical and
contemporary societies.

The second session was handled by our Alumni Dr.Ashitha Mandakathingal, Assistant Professor,
Department of History, Calicut University. She delivered a talk on Gender History-Doing Gender
History: Approaches and challenges.
