Anti-drug Awareness Flash mob- Dept of Economics

The Department of Economics, Providence Women’s College, organized an Anti-Drugs Awareness Flashmob at Manachira on 19 December 2025 at 4 PM. The initiative aimed to spread a strong message among the public, especially youth, to “Say No to Drugs” and promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle. Through a vibrant and impactful performance, students actively engaged the audience and created awareness about the social and health consequences of drug abuse. The event reflected the department’s commitment to social responsibility and community engagement.

Study Tour to Rajasthan- Dept of Economics

The Department of Economics organized a Study Tour to Rajasthan from December 3rd to 9th 2025, with the participation of 40 students and faculty members. During the seven-day tour, students visited major cities including Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Udaipur. The visit provided practical exposure to tourism economics, heritage management, and the functioning of local markets and small-scale industries. Students explored important historical sites and interacted with local traders, helping them connect theoretical concepts with real-world economic activities.

Discourse-US Trade Policy: Tariffs and Its Impact- Dept of Economics

The Department of Economics organized a discourse titled “US Trade Policy: Tariffs and Its Impact” on 8th October 2025. The session was delivered by Prof. Vipin Veettil, Faculty of Economics, IIM Kozhikode, who offered valuable insights into global trade dynamics and policy implications. The event was followed by an enlightening talk on “Ignorant by Choice: How funding seats, not students, broke Kerala colleges—and how to fix it.” With the active participation of 100 students, the programme held at Carmel Hall proved to be an engaging and intellectually stimulating experience.
