Physics Association Inauguration:

On January 23, 2026, the Department of Physics formally inaugurated its Association at Carmel Hall from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Although the academic year had witnessed active engagement since its commencement, the ceremony—centred on the theme “A Century of Quantum Mechanics: Past, Present, and Beyond”—served as an official celebratory milestone for the department’s ongoing initiatives.The Chief Guest, Dr. Mini P. Balakrishnan, Retired Associate Professor of Providence Women’s College, officially inaugurated the Association. In her inaugural address, she reflected on the evolution of Physics and encouraged students to remain inquisitive learners. Fathima Neharin, Secretary of the Physics Department (3rd DC), presented the annual report, outlining the department’s initiatives and achievements.Student excellence was recognised through the distribution of prizes and certificates. Following the formal session, Dr. Mini P. Balakrishnan delivered an insightful talk aligned with the theme, exploring the century-long journey and future prospects of Quantum Mechanics
