“The new you”- motivational program was conducted by the Department of Physics on 27th August 2025. The session was led by speaker Ms.Louli K, who is an ICF credentiated leadership development and executive coach.The talk focused on empowering our students in upholding their capabilities and self-spirit. The session was fun and engaging, and was attended by the III rd DC. The program focused on self assessment by engaging students in peer groups.

On the second day of moonlanding day celebrations, a variety of engaging and educational activities were organized. The exhibition room ( " journey of moon") showcased the exploration of the moon ,providing an informative experience about lunar missions and discoveries. A pencil drawing competition was conducted on the topic " escape to moon" offered platform to participants to display their creativity through pencil sketches.Anamika.S of 2nd botany won the first prize.A treasure hunt was organized in the campus encouraging participants to work as a team to find the hidden clue.The first team to find the final clue was awarded a cash [...]

The Moon Landing Day celebrations were flagged off with a flash mob by students of the Physics Department. Following this, a caption-writing competition was held in front of the auditorium. Many students participated, writing creative captions for a comic picture.A creative writing competition was held at 12 .00 pm , on the theme 'If I woke up on the moon'.At 1:30 PM, a quiz was held in the AV hall. Physics Association Valedictory Function and Magazine Release. The Physics Department organized its Valedictory Function and Magazine Release Ceremony with great enthusiasm.  Dr. Sini, Head of the Physics Department, delivered the Presidential Address, highlighting the department’s progress, achievements, and the importance of academic excellence along with participation in various activities. The programme inauguration and the release of the department magazine were carried out by the Chief Guest, Dr. Laina , IQAC Coordinator from the Department of History. The PG and Research Department of Physics at Providence Women’s College, Kozhikode, organized an extension activity titled Cosmic Gaze: Anti-Superstition Show and Sky Watch 2026 for the public. The program was conducted in association with IUCAA Centre for Astronomy Research & Development and the Regional Science Centre & Planetarium, Kozhikode. Physics Association Inauguration: On January 23, 2026, the Department of Physics formally inaugurated its Association at Carmel Hall from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Although the academic year had witnessed active engagement since its commencement, the ceremony—centred on the theme “A Century of Quantum Mechanics: Past, Present, and Beyond”—served as an official celebratory milestone for the department’s ongoing initiatives.The Chief Guest, Dr. Mini P. Debate – Department of physics

Urja, the energy club in collaboration with the departments of physics and chemistry, held a debate competition on January 19, 2026. The topic presented was "Phasing Out Fossil Fuels: An Imperative for India’s Energy Transition." The event was engaging, highlighting the immediate dangers of fossil fuels in India along with their associated threats, while also offering fresh perspectives on the issue. The competition was judged by Dr. Sini and Dr. Vidhya, with moderation provided by Mrs. Hasna. Group A, consisting of Fathima Asra and Vyshnavi, won first prize and received congratulations from the teachers.
