Department of Physics organized a 3-day workshop on Data Analysis and Machine Learning with Python from August 6 to 8, 2025, in association with Trycle. The program was conducted at Providence Women’s College, and it witnessed enthusiastic participation from physics students and faculty members of various colleges including those from Providence itself.
The inagugural session was graced by Dr. Sr. Ashmitha A.C, Principal of Providence Women’s College, who officially inaugurated the workshop. Dr. Sini, Head of the Department of Physics, also joined the occasion and extended her support throughout the event.
Expert sessions were handled by Mr. Fairoos OK, Subject Matter Expert from Trycle, and Mr. Arun, with the active involvement of the entire Trycle faculty team. The workshop covered the fundamentals of Python programming, data analysis techniques, and introductory machine learning, all through hands-on sessions. It was specially designed for beginners, and no prior coding experience was required.
Participants received prior access to a Python course, lifelong access to course materials, and certificates of participation at the end of the workshop. The organizers also ensured the comfort of all participants by providing food and refreshments during morning, afternoon, and evening breaks.
The closing ceremony included feedback from both teachers and students, who expressed their appreciation for the well-organized and practical nature of the sessions. As a token of gratitude, Dr. Sobha and HoD Dr. Sini presented a memento to the Trycle team. The program concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Aswathy
Overall, the workshop was a great success, providing valuable skills and exposure to modern tools in data science and machine learning.
