The Edwina Memorial Intercollegiate Paper Presentation Competition, hosted by the Department of Economics on January 27, 2025, focused on the topic “Kerala's Fiscal Crisis - Causes and Youth Perspective on Policy Solutions.” The event offered a platform to explore Kerala’s current fiscal challenges and potential solutions from the viewpoint of the youth. Fr. Dr. John Mariyamparambil, Head and Assistant Professor of the Department of Economics at CKGM College Perambra, Kozhikode, graced the event as the Guest of Honour and Speaker. The association inauguration was held on 24th of October 2024 in the MV hall. The association was inaugurated by Mr. Shihabudheen M.T, Assistant Professor, Farooq  College, Calicut. Thereafter was a session on the topic,”Love The Subject: The Path To Academic Success”.

On 21st  of october 2024, a Demat account opening and a live online trading session was organised by the department of Economics in the  multimedia lab of the college. The session was handled by Mr. Binu Joseph ,vice president ,Vertex  securities ltd. Cochin.

Department of Economics organised a one day Workshop on Income Tax Return Filing on 19th of October 2024. The session was held at the multifunctional knowledge centre at the college and was led by Mr. Vineesh V P, business consultant Tatco consultancy Pvt. Ltd.

The Department of Economics in association with Indian Dental Association and Starcare Hospital, conducted a talk on Menstrual Hygiene on 23rd of October 2024  at the MV hall. The session was conducted by Dr. Afrida Kunhi,Gynaecologist ,Star Care Hospital Calicut. Also the session was followed by the release of the short film " Chrimpson Rythms."
