CON-TEXTS 2026 – Seminar Report
The annual seminar of the PG & Research Department of English, Providence Women’s
College (Autonomous), Kozhikode, CON-TEXTS 2026, was conducted on 13 February
2026 as a one-day national seminar on the theme Contours of Memory: Emerging
Trajectories in Memory Studies.
The keynote address was delivered by Dr Avishek Parui, Associate Professor of English,
Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.
The inaugural session also featured felicitations by the Principal, Dr. (Sr). Jaseena Joseph,
and Dr Shanthi Vijayan, Head of the PG & Research Department of English.
The keynote lecture was followed by five parallel technical sessions comprising both offline
and online paper presentations.
Morning Sessions
The first offline session commenced at Carmel Hall at 12:00 noon and concluded at 1:00 p.m.
The session was chaired by Dr Surya K, Associate Professor, PG & Research Department of
English, Providence Women’s College (Autonomous), Kozhikode. It featured five paper
presentations. Ms Madhuri and Ms Ajanya of I M.A. English moderated the session.
The second session was conducted online from 11:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. It was chaired by Dr
Prathibha P, Assistant Professor, PG & Research Department of English, Providence
Women’s College (Autonomous), Kozhikode. The session included six presentations and was
moderated by Ms Nandana Surendran and Ms Fathima Rana of II M.A. English.
Lunch was served from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Afternoon Sessions
The third session began at 2:00 p.m. at Carmel Hall and concluded at 3:30 p.m. It was chaired
by Ms Elizabeth Antony, Assistant Professor, PG & Research Department of English,
Providence Women’s College (Autonomous), Kozhikode. The session comprised seven
offline presentations and was moderated by Ms Nandana Jayaprakash (II M.A. English) and
Ms Aiswarya Ajayakumar (I M.A. English).
The fourth session was conducted online from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. It was chaired by Ms
Nayana Alphonsa Mathew, Faculty, PG & Research Department of English, Providence
Women’s College (Autonomous), Kozhikode. The session included six presentations and was
moderated by Ms Riya P and Ms Sneha Sathyan T. P., both of II M.A. English.
The fifth session was held online in parallel from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. It was chaired by Dr.
(Sr). Pilcy Peter, Assistant Professor, PG & Research Department of English, Providence
Women’s College (Autonomous), Kozhikode. The session featured six online presentations
and was moderated by Ms Karthika M. S. and Ms Meghana V. of I M.A. English.
Valedictory Session
Following a tea break, the seminar concluded at 4:00 pm with a Valedictory Session. Dr.
Kavya Nair K. S., Staff Coordinator of CON-TEXTS 2026, delivered the Vote of Thanks.
Certificates were distributed to all offline participants on the same day. E-certificates were
emailed to online participants two weeks after the event.
