The department of Chemistry was established in 1958. The pioneer teacher , Ms. Radha Balakrishnan   played a major role in setting a well furnished lab and developed  passion for Chemistry among teachers , students and the non teaching staffs. The   department offers B.Sc . Chemistry with Mathematics  and Physics as the complimentary courses. Students can select second language from three options, Malayalam, Hindi, and French. We offer certificate courses for each batch to equip  them with skills to achieve their future goals. The department aims at the holistic development of the students by providing opportunities to organise and participate  in both academic and non academic activities and  inculcate social responsibility by  offering  chances to share their knowledge, talents and resources with the needy of  the neighbourhood. The department is keen in training the students to perform well in various competitive exams and interviews. We send our students for projects and internships to reputed institutions and R and D labs. The energy and Environment club of the department is actively involved in green initiatives and are trained to analyse water quality and  suggest suitable treatment methods.
