The Women’s Cell of Providence Women’s College organized a special programme to commemorate International Women’s Day on 10 March 2026 at 11:30 AM in the college auditorium.
The event aimed to celebrate womanhood, promote gender equality, and raise awareness about the importance of women’s empowerment in contemporary society. The programme was aligned with global development goals, particularly Sustainable Development Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) and Goal 10 (Reduced Inequalities).
The highlight of the programme was the presence of Gowri N as the Guest of Honour. She is a noted traveller, columnist, research scholar, and TEDx speaker. In her address, she shared her inspiring journey and emphasized the importance of resilience, self-confidence, and breaking societal barriers. Her talk motivated students to pursue their ambitions fearlessly and to contribute meaningfully to society.
The celebration served as a platform to reflect on the achievements of women and to acknowledge the challenges that still persist. It also reinforced the institution’s commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable environment.
